J.C.D. Australia Pty Ltd

JCD Australia Pty Ltd (JCDA) is the Australian subsidiary ofJapan Coal Development Co. Ltd, and has been involved in the Australian thermal coal market since 1980 through such projects as Blair Athol & Clermont Coal Mines as an equity holder, JCDA acquired an interest in Mt Pleasant Coal Mine in 2018. JCD is on the Board of Port Waratah Coal Services – a key partner in the Hunter Valley coal chain of which Japan is one of its largest customers.

JCDA seeks new business opportunities in the thermal coal industry – not only in mines, but also rail & port infrastructure. Through such investment, JCDA aims to secure a stable supply of coal for its shareholders (Japanese Power Utilities) and other coal users.
