Epsilon MODEL 3975 Extensometers for Diametral Rock and Concrete Testing

The Model 3975 extensometers from Epsilon can evaluate the Poisson’s ratio of concrete, asphalt, and rock samples by precisely measuring small diametral strains in large compression samples. They can be easily integrated with the Model 3542RA axial averaging extensometer.

These extensometers are self-supporting on the specimen and capable of evaluating standard sized diameter samples.

However, special versions can be availed on request. The units are ideal for applications that require precise diametral measurements with low strains.

Epsilon’s Model 3544 circumferential extensometer can also be employed for large strain measurements. This unit has rounded contact edges that allow the sample to get attached easily and remain in a fixed position.

As strain gaged instruments, the Model 3975 extensometers can be used with any kind of strain gaged transducer-based electronics.

They are often connected with a test machine controller that includes the signal conditioning electronics required for the extensometer.

In such cases, an appropriate connector and wiring is used to directly interface the electronics to the controller.

Using a variety of solutions from Epsilon, the output of the systems without the required electronics can be connected to chart recorders, data acquisition boards, or other devices.
