Anton Paar’s Cora 5001 Raman analyzer can enable the effective monitoring of chemical changes or the fast, reliable identification of substances based on their chemical fingerprint.
The instrument’s Fiber model is ideal for flexible analysis via a probe outside the instrument, while the Direct model can analyze samples within a closed compartment. The Direct model is certified as laser Class 1, assuring its ultra-safe use.
The Cora 5001’s guided analysis process allows the instrument to be used with minimal training. Its small footprint and optional battery operation ensure that these benchtop Raman instruments are flexible tools suitable for in-house analytical tasks or analysis in the field.
Key Features
Easy and Safe: User Guidance and a Class 1 Laser
Core operation of the Cora 5001 Raman spectrometer can be learned within just a few minutes, even by inexperienced users. This means that even students or new employees can perform safe, efficient Raman spectroscopy measurements within a short time.
Unlike many handheld instruments, the Cora 5001 Direct Raman spectrometer ensures additional safety due to its Class 1 laser specification. The laser will only activate when the measuring chamber is closed, ensuring that the device poses no risk to people working in its vicinity.
Excellent Efficiency: No Sample Preparation and Optional Accessories

Whether used to investigate solid, liquid, or powder powders, the Cora 5001 Raman spectrometer has an appropriate sample holder available. Vials with various diameters and shapes (round, square, rectangular) are available, and it is possible to analyze solid samples directly (sample carriers, pills, etc.).
Sample holders are fitted with magnets, allowing these to be quickly and precisely positioned in the instrument. This flexibility and ease of use enables immediate sample measurement without refocusing.
True Versatility: One Instrument, Many Samples
Applications involving fluorescing substances or a large number of different samples can be easily accommodated due to the available dual wavelength models, each providing two different excitation wavelengths in a single instrument.
Each wavelength is accommodated in its own independent optical spectrometer system, and users can move from one wavelength to the other with one click. This is also done without alignment or recalibration.
Complete Pharma Compliance with The Anton Paar Spectroscopy Suite
The Anton Paar Spectroscopy Suite streamlines and simplifies Raman analysis – an especially important consideration in the regulated environment.
Workflows guide the operator through a range of daily analysis tasks, and lab managers are supported to manage the reference database and set up methods. Comprehensive signing and versioning ensure traceability, while audit trail commenting and search functionality help expedite and simplify audits. All data is stored in a secure SQL database.
Autofocus: The Strongest Signal Ensures Reproducible Results
Manually focusing a weak Raman signal on thin or opaque samples can be exceedingly challenging. The instrument’s powerful autofocus removes any complexity from the measuring routine by automatically locating the spot with the best Raman signal.
Autofocus is completed within seconds, ensuring reproducibility and removing the potential for user error.
