The Rigaku XtaLAB mini II is a compact, benchtop X-ray crystallography system used to determine small molecule structures. It is a single crystal X-ray diffractometer used to generate 3D structures is of publication-quality. The XtaLAB mini II is a suitable add-on to any synthetic chemistry laboratory.

The crucial step of mounting a crystal on the goniometer and to physically center the crystal in the position of the X-ray beam guarantees that the students understand the significance of crystal selection and mounting methods.

Reduced Size Does Not Mean Reduced Data Quality
The XtaLAB mini II from Rigaku is a research-grade chemical crystallography instrument that can be placed on the benchtop. This instrument does not compromise the quality of data or extends the collection times.
The results delivered by the instrument are unambiguous. The life of the X-ray tube is extended by operating at 600 W. A SHINE optic, which is a specially curved monochromator, is used to generate usable X-ray flux similar to a standard X-ray system.
Dedicated to Producing Publication Quality Structures
The major design requisite when building the XtaLAB mini II was that the structures generated by the instrument should be publishable in top scientific journals.
The HPC detector is placed in such a way that the maximum 2θ value is well outside of the Acta Cryst requirements. The software enables all of the tools required to produce publication-quality data that can be used to determine 3D structures from a selection of structure analysis packages.
