Introducing XEMIS
The XEMIS series offers highly accurate gravimetric sorption analysis, operating to 200 bar. Changes in the mass of samples are measured as a function of applied pressure and temperature to determine isobars, isotherms and sorption kinetics.
XEMIS is designed to accommodate a complete range of vapor and gas species, including flammables and corrosives. They feature active pressure regulation from 10-2 mbar, meaning XEMIS can offer a controllable pressure range covering 7 orders of magnitude.
The XEMIS series can provide highly accurate, high resolution and reproducible measurements. They can maintain these standards with even small samples sizes or uptakes; offering performance that is unsurpassed in a high-pressure sorption analyzer.
Key Features & Benefits
Fully compatible with corrosive, flammable and toxic gases and vapors
Advanced programmability and full automation
The widest controllable pressure range of any gravimetric sorption analyzer, offering active pressure regulation of 7 orders of magnitude
Able to measure at temperature from 77 K to 500 °C
Exosensing Technology, ideal for operation with aggressive species
Isobar, isotherm and high pressure TGA measurements in one single, automated analysis tool
Optimized performance for sample sizes from 1 mg to 5 g
Symmetric geometry, with exceptionally low total system buoyancy suitable for accurate measurements even at high pressures
Fast, accurate analysis of kinetics and equilibria via the IGA method
The IGA Method
The unique IGA method from Hiden Isochema can be applied independently to every step in a gravimetric sorption measurement. Pressure and temperature are actively regulated at each step of the process, with the resultant changes in sample weight continuously recorded.
With the IGA method, kinetic weight data is analyzed in real time. The trend toward equilibrium is then predicted and displayed. Criteria for equilibration are applied to objectively determine the ideal measurement period before the system moves on to the following temperature or pressure value. Each point of the equilibrium is plotted on an isobar or isotherm, with the full daw data also recorded.
The IGA method allows consistent analysis and optimum measurement accuracy – two key factors in ensuring faster overall process times.
