The CCR-XG cryogenic coolers from Janis Researcher is primarily designed to reduce vibrations at the sample and at the same time uses a closed cycle refrigerator and provides a sample in vacuum environment.
The Model CCS-100-XG/204N (10 K) and Model SHI-4XG-5 (<5 K) cryogenic coolers replace the standard optical closed cycle sample in vacuum systems: CCS-100/204 and SHI-4-1, respectively. These systems are capable of separating the vibrations of the cold head from the sample by using rubber bellows and helium exchange gas.
The sample is mounted to a stage not connected to the cold head, but still can be cooled through helium exchange gas. This set up allows the sample to cool and at the same time reduces the vibrations. The rubber bellows helps to fix the body of the cryostat to the cold head. When the cryostat and the cold head are supported independently, very limited vibrations reach the body of the cryostat through the rubber bellows.
