Product Description

Industrial Design for High Performance and High Load

PI has a linear stage in its portfolio for industrial solutions with a large load capacity and high dynamics with the V-817. Its design is consistently geared to harsh industrial settings, with high rigidity and the utilization of high-quality components, such as recirculating ball bearing guides, 3-phase linear motors, and incremental linear encoders.

The encoders’ high resolution enables outstanding tracking performance, small tracking errors, and quick settling times. Connectors that are industry-compatible provide rapid and secure connectivity.

With a triple M6 hole pattern, the alternative motion platform provides numerous installation possibilities. Without this platform, a very low total height is achieved, which has advantages, particularly in XY combinations.

Linear Motor With Direct Drive

Three-phase magnetic direct drives do not require mechanical components in the drivetrain; instead, the driving force is sent directly and without friction to the motion platform. The drives achieve tremendous velocities and accelerations.

Ironless motors are particularly well suited for precision positioning tasks as there is no undesired interaction with the permanent magnets. This enables smooth running even at low speeds while eliminating vibration at high speeds.

Control behavior is nonlinear, and any position can be easily controlled. The driving force can be easily adjusted.

Fully Integrated Multi-Axis Systems

The V-817 linear stages are ideal for integrating into complex systems. As a result, PI provides integrated XY or XYZ multi-axis systems with the appropriate controller and accessories like a granite base, machine frame, mounting adapter, cable set, and software support.
