The CRAIC UVM-1 microscope was designed to make imaging of microscopic samples fast and simple. The UVM- 1 operates from the deep ultraviolet to the near infrared, has excellent research capabilities and offers quick and reliable operation.
The UVM-1 is especially suited for the UV-visible-NIR range and can be used for either broadband or spectrally selective imaging. Since it has a flexible design it can be configured for absorbance, transmission, fluorescence, reflectance and polarization microscopy. It allows UV, Visible and NIR microscopic imaging in a single instrument.
It is possible to operate the UVM-1 manually or it can be fully automated or it can be used at an in-between stage such as partially automated. It has advanced detectors, optics and excellent software and can accomodate a wide range of samples types and help in obtaining spectrally selective images of microscopic sample areas with ease.
Raman microspectroscopy can be added with CRAIC Apollo™ Raman microspectroscopy units. The power of Raman spectroscopy is added to the ability to image from the deep UV to the SWIR in a single powerful instrument.
Which issues was the UVM-1™ microscope developed to address?
The UVM-1™ was designed as a ultraviolet and near-infrared microscope to acquire images of microscopic samples beyond what the naked eye can perceive through a standard microscope. It was developed as a precision research-grade instrument and is currently in use in many laboratories around the world where it is used in the identification and qualitification of protein crystals and the quality control of hard disks and semiconductors. It is able to acquire high resolution images due to the use of shorter wavelength light while also being able to image materials and contaminants that are normally invisible to the naked eye.

What flexibility does it offer to the user?
The UVM-1™ is a UV-visible-NIR microscope that can be configurd for imaging in many different ways. The UVM-1™ is offered with different types of illumination including UV-visible-NIR transmission, reflectance, fluorescence and polarization for the imaging of sub-micron scale samples.
