TempTABs are used to validate furnace uniformity and thermal processing reproducibility. They can be employed in non-oxidizing atmospheres, vacuum, or air. There is no need to be concerned about outgassing or contamination because TempTABs have been processed to eliminate organics.
Although TempTABs were made for sintering, brazing, and heat-treating metals (both ferrous and non-ferrous), they can also be utilized for a wide range of other tasks, such as sintering dental zirconia and firing tiles once or quickly.
By measuring the final TempTAB dimension with a digital micrometer and entering the dimension into the TempTAB Trakker Software, which converts the final dimension into a temperature equivalent, TempTABs offer a simple way to digitize and record the thermal process.
The software enables users to store up to 360 runs in nine locations. They have a wide temperature range of shrinkage since they are made of well-regulated ceramic materials. Once they have completed the thermal process, they are measured, and the dimensions are utilized to calculate the maximum temperature they were exposed to.
The purpose of the TempTAB is to confirm that the furnace is consistently producing the desired thermal profile. The TempTAB measurements from each location after each run can be entered into the software to reliably track the process temperatures over time in up to nine locations. The development of temperature data involves a 5 °C/min ramp rate up to the setpoint and hold intervals at the maximum temperature of 10, 30, 60, 120, and 240 minutes. Where applicable, heat-treating schedules that may be inserted into a hot furnace for five different hold times are also available.
