Using Polyurethane Foam in Doors and Windows

All LAST-A-FOAM^® polyurethane foam is designed to be dimensionally stable and not warp or bow. The foams have great resistance to water absorption due to their closed cell structure and will not swell or break when exposed to moisture. It has also been demonstrated that its physical qualities can be retained in long-term applications.

LAST-A-FOAM^® polyurethane foam, which is resistant to rot, fire, and water, is a great alternative to wood as the main component of the entry, interior, and garage doors.

As a result of its robustness, reduced weight, and superior insulating characteristics, it is also an option for medium-density fiberboard (MDF). For example, the microcellular foam with the finest cell surface, LAST-A-FOAM^® FR-4600, can accommodate window trim applications with delicate and 3-dimensional detailing.

LAST-A-FOAM^®adheres effectively to composite skins and can also be utilized without adhesive when bonding, such as curing pre-impregnated skin with a lower-density foam or molding a cured composite skin to the foam material.

LAST-A-FOAM^® is available in sheets, blocks, and molded forms. Molding allows for outstanding grain detail that mimics the look of wood.
