The MT Series torsion testing systems from Instron come in six standard models with force capacities up to 5,650 N-m (50,000 lbf-in). The MT series systems are applicable for torsion testing and component in-service simulation.
The torsion testing systems have a compact design, which reduces the lab space required and provides excellent alignment and frame stiffness. The MT series is powered by high-performance control electronics from Instron and thus offers highly precise test data and control for fasteners, testing wire, switches, springs, and metal components utilized in the construction, aerospace, automotive, and biomedical sectors.

Features and Benefits
Tunable crosshead locking system enables crosshead to be fixed or free-floating
Dual linear slide design provides low-axial friction and high-torsional stiffness
All-inclusive torsion testing software offers graphical data plots and carries out a broad range of calculations on angle and torque data
Torque cells available from 0.225 to 5,650 Nm (2 to 50,000 lbf-in) offer excellent zeroing capability and precision
Torque cell protection device avoids low-capacity torque cells from being damaged while configuring
Productivity panel with several function keys and displays enables the operator to carry out general testing functions and observe main test data without getting back to the computer
Optional preload assembly offers consistent axial force in tension or compression
MT5, MT10, MT20, and MT50—Interlocked chuck guard safeguards the operator from the rotating drive at the time of operation
MT1 and MT2—Interlocked enclosure safeguards the operator from the rotating drive by avoiding testing when the guard is open
