Using material quantities as small as 5 g, or 7 cm3, the HAAKE™ MiniLab 3 provides valuable results that enable users to streamline their new material development. Its screw speed and pressure range make it suitable for performing reactive extrusions and for compounding expensive materials.
Description
Obtaining new compounds faster and documenting structural variations online has never been simpler. The HAAKE™ MiniLab 3 Micro Compounder is a conical, twin-screw compounder consisting of an integrated backflow channel. The compounder functions as either a stand-alone unit or can be a totally computer-controlled system, and can be used with either co- or counter-rotating screws. It is fitted with an inert gas flush system. Owing to its channel and a bypass valve design, the residence time is well-defined. Two pressure transducers are incorporated in the backflow channel, which allow the measurement of relative melt viscosity when counter-rotating screws are used. When the HAAKE™ MiniLab 3 Micro Compounder is used along with the optional force feeder, continuous extrusion with very small volume flows is achievable.
