ASTM D1598 outlines the standard test procedure / method for determining the tim-to-failure of plastic pipes. Tested under a constant internal pressure in a controlled external environment.The ASTM D1599 test method is different. This specification is used to determine the short-term burst pressure of plastic pipe, tubing and fittings.
