The HyperFine series of spectrometers, based on LightMachinery's patented VIPA technology, are designed for measuring hyperfine spectra and small spectral shifts. The HyperFine spectrometer, available from LightMachinery, is a compact, inexpensive spectrometer with sub-picometer resolution.
This spectrometer is an ideal choice for pulsed laser characterization as well as for measuring the subtle spectral shifts from Brillouin scattering. Using simple PC-based software, the user can review spectra in real-time and can save or export these spectra for more analysis. LabView drivers allow the HyperFine spectrometer to be incorporated into automated experimental setups.
Features
The key features of the HyperFine spectrometer are as follows:
Fiber optic input
Sub-picometer resolution
LabView Drivers
Simple to use
Quick data acquisition and export
Simple USB interface
No moving parts (single shot laser spectrum analysis)
How Does it Work?
Light enters the HyperFine spectrometer via a fiber or it is directly imaged onto the slit. A VIPA etalon, which was manufactured using the proprietary fluid jet polishing technology of LightMachinery, is employed to produce extremely high dispersion in the vertical axis with sub-picometer resolution.
Next, a standard grating is used to disperse overlapping orders in the horizontal direction and to generate a 2D spectrum of the input light. LightMachinery’s software unwraps the spectrum in order to generate an ultra-high-resolution wavelength spectrum of the input light. The spectrometer also uses a secondary camera to provide a wide wavelength range and lower resolution view of the spectrum.
