The BeDensi T Pro Series: A Tapped Density Meter

The BeDensi T Pro Series from Bettersize is a dependable tapped density tester that stands out when it comes to intuitive operation. The instrument complies with the ASTM, European Pharmacopeia (EP2.9.34), ISOand United States Pharmacopeia (USP<616>).

It has the ability to quantify the tapped density and bulk density with 1.0% repeatability to help users comprehend the flowability of an extensive range of powder materials.

This tapped density tester includes the main body, graduated cylinders, control paneland embedded mini printer. The tapping frequency and numbers can be adjusted. Moreover, the cylinder types (25, 100or 250 mL) and drop height (3 or 14 mm) are also available based on various requirements.

            The BeDensi T1 Pro is easy to use and has an intuitive keyboard for setting various measurement conditions. The report can be printed out immediately after each measurement. Most importantly, the noise level of this device has been significantly reduced compared to the previous version.

            Standardized Measurement Procedure

            1. Selecting the Cylinder Size

            Depending on the density and types of samples, a proper cylinder size must be chosen (25 mL, 100 mLand 250 mL optional)

            Users should place the cylinder on the supporter and lock it with the holder

            2. Setting the Test Conditions

            The number of taps and the speed should be entered

              Speed: 100–300 taps/minute

              Number of taps: 1 to 99,999

              For example, the number of taps is 10, 500and 1250, and the speed is 250 taps/minute (3 mm drop height), according to USP and EP.

              3. Weighing the Sample

              Users should filter the sample using a 1.0-mm sieve. Samples should be weighed in grams and poured into the cylinder gently.

              Then, the test can start.

              4. Reading the Volume

              A mean tapped volume value can be achieved from three readings.

              5. Printing the Report

              Users only have to input the weight and the tapped volume while the BeDensi T Pro Series automatically estimates the tapped density and prints the report when the print button is pressed.

              The outcomes can be utilized to evaluate the Hausner Ratio (HR) and the Compressibility Index (CI) and additionally calculate the flowability of samples.
