Superabrasive diamond and cubic boron nitride (cBN) powders produced by Advanced Abrasives, a leading superabrasive micronizer, are superior in quality and lot to lot consistency with particle sizes ranging from of 25nm up to and including the mesh region.
The company’s "Mesh to Micron" process ensures full control at every step and allows control of the key product attributes to match the precise requirements of the customer application.
Superabrasive powders with particle size greater than 0.5µm are supplied in jars as a dry powder, while the finer powders are supplied in bottles as a dispersion in DI water to prevent agglomeration.
The superabrasive cBN powder product from Advanced Abrasives Corporation is provided from stock in multiple particle sizes ranging from 80µm to 0.1µm with larger meshes sizes available upon request. The higher thermal and chemical stability of cBN makes it suitable for high-temperature applications.
Diamond powders are supplied from stock as natural or synthetic diamond in multiple particle sizes from 80µm to 0.025µm (25nm). Larger meshes sizes are available upon request. The synthetic diamond product includes polycrystalline and monocrystalline types. The monocrystalline powder is provided in multiple grades from the highest quality premium sintering stock for the production of hot-pressed polycrystalline diamond tool inserts through to resin bond diamond powder to make diamond grinding tools with vitrified, phenolic, or polyimide bond systems.
Custom-tailored superabrasives powders are available to meet exact application requirements. This can range from accommodating specific size distribution and/or morphological needs through to developing and supplying coated, compounded or stratified blends unique to the applications needs.
Advanced Abrasives Corporation additionally offers metal coated superabrasive powders with; cBN cubic boron nitride powder, metal bond monocrystalline diamond powder (MDP), and resin bond monocrystalline diamond (RDP) powder, all available in a choice of either a copper or a nickel coating to improve thermal transfer and bond retention.
