Founded in 1958 in Blue Island, Illinois, Sterling Precision Optics has grown into a multi-faceted optical component manufacturer. In its recently remodeled 22,000 sq. ft. facility in Evanston, Illinois, Sterling has the capability to supply a wide variety of optics and precision machined glass. Because of extensive capital improvements over the past years our equipment base has grown to include high speed polishing, band sawing, drilling, coating and grinding.

Sterling is a full service optical company with over 50,000 lbs. of optical glass in stock. This allows us to respond to your most urgent delivery schedule, and with in-house machining, tempering and coating, streamlines delivery of your most needed components.

Over the years Sterling has developed excellent relationships with its worldwide network of suppliers. We purchase optical glass, fused silica and colored filter glass from companies in the United States, Germany, England, Japan, China, France and Russia.
