With more than 35 years of experience in the cast polyurethane industry, and by employing state-of-the art computer and instrumentation technology, StateMix offers customers a variety of Polyurethane products services and manufacturing equipment.
History of StateMix
State Industries Ltd was founded in 1969 by Stan Baldwin in Winnipeg, MB. Canada, as a one man polyurethane parts manufacturer. Stan quickly saw the growing market for the durable cast polyurethane elastomer products in various industrial applications. As the company began to grow, so did its list of services, producing parts for the military, agriculture, automotive and mining industries.
In 1992, Payam Towfigh took over the operation, and shortly after a joint venture was establish with RollerBlade Inc. of Minnesota to manufacture patent-pending in-line skate wheels for international markets. Virtually overnight State Industries became a major manufacturer of wheels in North America. A fully automated factory was built in Winnipeg and several million skate wheels were produced during the course of production. At the same time the industrial division of State Ind. grew rapidly and new techniques and methods were developed to produce more complex parts for many applications. When the bulk of skate wheel production moved offshore in the late 1990s, most of the employees of the wheel division of State Ind., with years of valuable casting experience, transferred to StateMix and the new company was born.
By year 2000, StateMix Ltd. became a major competitor in equipment fabrication, manufacturing a variety of polyurethane dispensers and ancilliary equipment serving markets in United States, Canada, South America, Europe and India.
As of 2009, StateMix Ltd. has moved into a new 40,000 square foot world headquarters facility in Winnipeg, Manitoba. According to Payam Towfigh, president and founder of StateMix "We needed more space for R & D, engineering, manufacturing, spare parts inventory, and for our new line of Vortex Mixers. We also needed to plan for future growth and the expansion of our product line. A new building was the only answer."
The new facility includes offices, sales, engineering and in-house training facilities, spare parts storage areas, and manufacturing space. It was designed to meet State Mix's design and production needs for years to come. It now has to ability to build more equipment at a faster pace, and provide more extensive training and customer services.
