The TIMA mineralogy solution from TESCAN offers quick access to actionable data in variousapplications such as mineral quantification, metallurgy, petrography, liberation analysis, and other mineralogical or composition studies.

To support Earth science studies, TIMA offers an automated, user-friendly mineralogy solution that renders microanalysis and petrography faster and more efficient. Besides handling modal composition routines, TIMA can also determine the composition of whole populations of grains, thus generating elemental maps of all detectable elements along with the coordinates of minerals of interest.

When TIMA is not used for automated mineralogy, it serves as a highly efficient, autonomous field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). In the mining industry, TESCAN TIMA can support high-throughput, industrial mineral processing applications with very little need for operator intervention.

TESCAN TIMA automates mineral phase identification, quantification, and interpretation of textural data, subsequently producing the necessary process mineralogy reports. TESCAN TIMA offers reproducible and reliable quantitative data to enhance various processes.

Four EDS detectors provided in the TESCAN TIMA feature their own digital pulse processor, thus increasing throughput speed for processing samples. The patented, high-sensitivity spectral summing algorithm available from TESCAN ensures precise and reproducible measurement for elements that are not so abundant.

TESCAN TIMA is based on the ease-of-use standards of TESCAN’s Essence GUI, which helps novice operators to become proficient quickly and work independently.

Automation enables unattended working for faster processing and gaining access to reproducible quantitative data. It is possible to process TIMA data offline, thus increasing the tool time for interactive microanalysis.
