The Scientifica Story

Founded in 1997 our customers were initially just in the UK, but international researchers were also contacting us for our products and services. In 2013, we became part ofJudges Scientific PLCjoining a network of other elite scientific research companies.

Today, we export worldwide, serving customers directly and through a network of trusteddistributors. Our headquarters are in Uckfield, UK, with a Sales office in New Jersey, USA, and manufacturing operations based in Maidenhead, UK.

Our Primary Research Areas

Electrophysiologyis the study of electrical activity in biological systems, focusing on cells and tissues, and is vital for understanding nerve and muscle function, as well as diagnosing and treating related medical conditions, such as Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease.

Multiphoton Imagingis an advanced fluorescent imaging technique used in biology and neuroscience to visualise living tissues and cells with high precision by using multiple lower-energy photons to excite fluorescent molecules. It allows for deep-tissue imaging and is valuable for studying complex biological processes with minimal damage to the sample.

Optogenetics and Uncagingare techniques in neuroscience and cellular biology for precise control of cell or neuron activity. Optogenetics uses light-sensitive proteins, while Uncaging releases active molecules from caged compounds using specific stimuli.
