Mini Section/Slide Dryer

The Mini Section/Slide Dryer is a compact device built with improved LEAN workflow through microtome in mind. Air at a digitally controlled temperature is blown through the base of the instrument for quick and efficient section drying without the risk of overheating the specimen. Using this air-flow system allows for a reduction in drying times of approximately 75% compared to conventional ovens.

The spacious chamber can fit up to 6 slide racks (30 slide capacities). The lid on top comes with innovative resistance hinges that allow users to easily position it at any angle, allowing both hands to be used when placing and removing items from the dryer. The lid is also transparent s so the samples can be inspected at any time. An optional 4 Slide Rack Holder upgrades the system to with an easily accessible side mount that can hold 4 slide racks of 30 slide capacity.

Other options include the LEAN Timer system and identifier rack to ensure that each slide rack has been dried for the optimum time as well as providing both audible and visual signals that alert users when a slide rack has fully completed drying. The LEAN Timer can monitor up to four slide racks.

High Capacity Section/Slide Dryer

The Ted Pella High Capacity Section/Slide Dryer is similar to their Mini Section/Slide Dryer but has an increased footprint to allow for more slides. Offering a two-fold increase in the amount of slides able to be dried at once, the High Capacity Section/Slide Dryer is designed to give maximum drying capacity for high workload laboratories.

The dryer has space for up to 13 slide racks (30 slide capacities); when two 4 slide rack holders are used, capacity is 8 slide racks holding 30 slides each. That’s an overall capacity of 630 slides!
