High-resolution imaging of minuscule parts and details, like individual OLED, microLED, micro OLED, and other emissive display pixels and subpixels, is made possible by the Radiant Vision Systems 20× Microscope Lens.
With its 20× magnification, the lens allows for fine-detail measurement by applying more image sensor pixels per display pixel or component feature. ProMetric® Imaging Colorimeters and photometers can be immediately mounted to the lens, which also comes with ProMetric or TrueTestTM Software for easy system setup and customizable automated measurement sequences.
Overview
Display pixel density and resolution are rising. Smartwatches and other AR, VR, and MR gadgets use microdisplays, which can have hundreds or thousands of Pixels Per Inch (PPI). These pixels and their subpixels can have a diameter of just a few microns. Manufacturers must measure minuscule components more than ever to guarantee precision in light output, color, and other attributes.
This is particularly true for emissive displays, such as OLED, LED, microLED, or micro-OLED, whose output varies from pixel to pixel since each pixel generates luminance. Even from a distance, these discrete variances, known as mura, can result in non-uniformity in the display, particularly when looking at the display at high bright states.
A ProMetric Y-series Imaging Photometer or a ProMetric I-series Imaging Colorimeter can be used with the 20× Microscope lens to measure luminance solely or both luminance and chromaticity. Data analysis and display tools such as radar plots, bitmaps, cross-sectional graphs, and isometric plots are supported.

Evaluate Individual Display Pixels
The imaging colorimeter or photometer can focus more image sensor pixels per display pixel for fine-detail measurement, thanks to the 20× Microscope Lens' magnification. When used with a ProMetric® Imaging Photometer or Colorimeter, users can obtain more accurate measurements and fine-grained pixel detail.
For enhanced measurement precision, the lens enlarges the specifics of the display sensor while recording display pixels and subpixels across many sensor pixels of high-resolution (61 MP) image sensors. This blend of affordability, superior performance, and adaptability provides manufacturers with simple-to-use measurement control, maximizing testing effectiveness and facilitating sophisticated analysis.
Differences in output between pixels can be measured, computed, and then applied as adjustments. The demura, or normalizing, of pixel outputs results in a completely homogeneous display. These calibrations can be carried over from design to guarantee precise pixel output for the specified substrate or pixel arrangement of devices in manufacturing operations.

Characterize Subpixel Patterns
Characterizing subpixel patterns can be difficult without a very high-resolution system and microscopic measurement optics. By enlarging images by a factor of 20, the 20× Microscope Lens helps design producers guarantee precise subpixel layouts, geometries, and RGB color patterns.
This picture demonstrates how the 20× Microscope Lens can capture great detail in a tiny amount of space, allowing for accurate imaging of individual components with a significant degree of light region separation.

Applications
The 20× Microscope Lens takes incredibly high-resolution close-ups of minute features. For both lab and in-line applications, the camera/lens solution provides photometric or colorimetric imaging efficiency:
Imaging at high resolution of minuscule components and their characteristics, including microdisplays and micro LEDs
Assessment of ultra-high-resolution screens' display pixels and pixel architectures, including subpixels.
An assessment of single LEDs, microLEDs, microOLEDs, and additional emitting elements.
Characterization for R&D and display design
Measurement for end-of-line and production quality control and correction
