Powerful Cameras for Embedded Systems: Blackfly S Board Level

The FLIR Blackfly Board Level variants are machine-vision, high performance, area-scan cameras developed for integration into limited spaces.

The Blackfly S board level models are different from several board-level cameras; for example, it includes a set of rich features applied to the advanced CMOS sensors—the same set of features as the cased model.

The area-scan cameras can be readily integrated with established compatibility into well-known SOMs and SBCs. The Blackfly S board level versions allow OEMs to design lighter, smallerand lower cost solutions with rich features and built-in system connectivity.

Designed for Integration in Small Spaces

The Blackfly S board-level models are perfect for integrating into mobile, desktopand handheld devices, thanks to their 29 x 29 x 12-mm board-level footprint and GigE or USB3 across FPC connection with a latching connector. Besides this, the models do not require a fixed lens mount and include low profile JST GPIO connector.

High Performance Imaging

It is unusual for board-level cameras to incorporate the latest CMOS sensors and come with a complete set of features. The Blackfly S board level models incorporate the advanced Pregius global shutter CMOS image sensors for capturing high dynamic range and distortion-free images.

The models include the same set of rich features as the cased ones, enabling both automatic and accurate manual control across image capture and on-camera pre-processing.

Embedded Eco-System Support

The entire Blackfly S camera range is perfect for embedded systems and offers established compatibility with well-known SBCs and operating systems, such as Linux on x64, x86and ARM and desktop Windows.
