Peel Fixtures and Equipment

Universal testing machines with peel fixtures assess the bond strength of films, packaging materials, laminated surface coatings, and other bonded structures. FS-PL-90 90-Degree Peel Fixture

Principles of Operation: The FS-PL-90 is used to evaluate peel strength and includes a sliding table that moves steadily while keeping a consistent peel angle, as well as a wire that pulls the specimen-mounted sliding table laterally. One end of the peel sample is fastened to the top grip (a manual vise grip is advised), and the other end is attached to the FS-PL sliding table. The 90-degree peel test is performed in the tensile direction. The force being measured is the peel or bond strength between two.

FS-PL-180 180-degree Peel Fixture

Principles of Operation: The FS-PL-180 comes with two platens: steel or glass. The specimen is peeledaway from the substrate at a 180° angle, with the line of separation perpendicular to the applied force. The adhesive strength is determined by the force required to constantly remove the adhesive tape from the plate

FS-PL-ADJ Adjustable Angle Peel Fixture

Principles of Operation: The FS-PL-ADJ design has a sliding table identical to the FS-PL-90 but with an adjustable angle of ±30° for varying peel testing applications. Different alternatives, such as wider width, are available. A top grip must be mounted on the machine for the full test setup, and the same methods as in the FS-PL-90 operation can be used to get peel strength results.

FS-CDT-ASTM D1781 Climbing Drum Peel Fixture

Principles of Operation: The climbing drum peel fixture is made up of a drum assembly, flexible loading straps installed on the stand's bottom, and a drum clamp that holds the outer skin to the drum's face. During the test, the loading straps pull on the drum assembly, causing it to spin and climb the length of the aluminum panel. This action separates the outer skin from the inner structure. The material testing system measures the peel force and calculates the peel resistance of adhesive bonds. To hold the specimen, use an upper self-closing clamp.

FS-PL-ASTM D3167 Floating Roller Peel Fixture

Principles of Operation: The floating roller peel test enables a flexible substrate to be softly peeled apartfrom the hard substance. To complete the test setup, place one end of the specimen in the floating roller peel fixture’s roller base and the other end in a manual vise or self-tightening grip. Test is run in the tensile direction. The angle of separation is effective; therefore, the test works well for substrates that are less flexible and cannot be bentto a 90- or 180-degree angle.

FS-LT Loop Tack Test Fixture

Principles of Operation: The FS-LT loop tack test fixture, manufactured in accordance with ASTM D6195, is available with either the standard eye end adapter or a rectangular-shaped sword adapter. A specimen carrier plate (surface possibilities include glass or stainless steel) is attached to the loop tack test device. During testing, the tape loop must descend onto the platform and cover it, with the loop’s edges slightly overhanging the platform edges. The tack force or strengthof the pressure-sensitive adhesive is measured
