Fused-Ends: Leading the Way in Long-Term Performance

For long-term performance, all-silica fused-end bundles and assemblies set the standard. Having been tested for more than 40,000 continuous, unfiltered hours, the fused-end packages display level, steady transmission at 95% of the original input.

Conventionally, the bundle transmission level has been restricted by NA and the packing factor of the active fiber core area. But in fused-end bundles, ArmadilloSIA® fibers are fused to remove inter-fiber spaces—in the absence of epoxy and its innate limiting properties.

Fused-end packages provide a clear benefit over liquid light guides since they provide remarkable throughput for wavelengths varying from 160 to 1200 nm without solarization. Dissimilar to liquid light guides, Armadillo's fused-end solutions come in limitless lengths and will not leak or decline with respect to time.
