New Lightweight Articulated Dump Truck from JCB

The JCB 718 is one of the most sophisticated articulated dump trucks available in the market. When compared to the JCB 714, the 718 has a heavier payload of 16.33 metric tonnes yet it is a lightweight unit than other mid-range counterparts. This means minimal ground damage and improved manoeuvrability can be realized. The advanced mid-range dump truck is ideal for a number of applications.

The engine in the JCB 718 is a 6.7 litre turbo diesel unit that generates 129 kW and 800 Nm of torque and is connected to a Smoothshift transmission to allow a 40 kph speed and smooth performance. The powerful transmission and engine ensure that everything is running smoothly, while the dry disc braking in front and rear slows down things. Additionally, six forward gears and three reverse gears with automatic or manual operation deliver a 40 kph forward or 27 kph reverse speed, respectively. Efficient material discharge is realized through a body tipping angle of 84°. A 40° articulation and independent rear chassis oscillation offer safety, manoeuvrability and positive ground engagement. The JCB 718 has standard limited slip diffs that ensure maximum traction even in rough terrains; all-round visibility aids in better manoeuvrability.

The JCB 718 articulated dump truck has been specifically developed to promote operator safety and comfort, thus resulting in improved productivity. It has simple intuitive controls, standard air conditioning and excellent visibility. In addition, a fully suspended front axle offers speed and ride comfort.

Routine servicing is made easy to make the operator more comfortable with the JCB 718. In addition, IP69 electrics, a hinged cooling pack, a single piece engine cover at the cab, a battery isolator near the cab door, and an EMS monitoring system to alert operators on problems, are fitted in the articulated dump truck. Ground level access is provided to all grease points.
