MegaWatt Lasers was formed in 1997 to provide solid-state laser consulting, R&D, and small scale manufacturing capabilities to military, industrial, and medical customers. MegaWatt Lasers solid-state laser engineering consulting services have been provided to NVESD, ARL, ARDEC, PM Apache, DoD contractors, and commercial clients. MegaWatt Lasers is currently developing Laser Ordnance Ignition and Laser Isotope Breakdown Spectroscopy technologies under two separate ARL supported R&D efforts. Additionally, MegaWatt Lasers maintains a small laboratory and manufacturing facility on Hilton Head Island, SC where application specific solid-state lasers are developed and produced, and high quality diffuse reflector pump chambers are manufactured. MegaWatt Lasers forte is eye-safe Er:glass laser technology.
