ABB's FPD470 Wedgemeter series measures gas, liquids, and steam. They contain a solid V-shaped flow restriction which makes them highly robust. The FPD470 wedge meters are bi-directional and mainly suitable for abrasive and/or viscous slurries/fluids.
Wedge Meter Flow Element - FPD470P
ABB’s FPD470P is a wedge meter possessing threaded DP connections for connection to conventional transmitters. The flow element contains a body and wedge flow restriction. This restriction causes a differential pressure corresponding to the square of the volumetric flow rate.
The FPD470P wedge restriction contains no critical surface dimensions, or sharp edges, that will influence measurement accuracy as the result of typically expected wear.

Wedge Meter Flow Element - FPD470F
ABB’s FPD470F is a wedge meter comprising DP connections for flanged remote seals. The flow element is provided with a body and wedge flow restriction. This restriction creates a differential pressure corresponding to the square of the volumetric flow rate.
The FPD470F wedge restriction does not have any critical surface dimensions, or sharp edges, that will impact measurement accuracy as the result of normally expected wear.
