In 1978 Ed McKenna Sr. left his position as Western Region Manager with Worthington Pump Corporation and established McKenna Engineering & Equipment Company, Inc., which has become of the of premier process and engineering equipment companies in California. The Company started with Ed in sales, an inside application engineer, and a shared secretary. McKenna Engineering & Equipment Co., Inc. was set up as a pilot program for Goulds Pumps Inc. as their first distributor.
During the 1980’s roughly 70% of the pump business was in oil refining and production. The oil crash of the mid 80s forced the company to greatly diversify its sales and service efforts with both products and industries, as well as change the way it operated the business.
McKenna Engineering & Equipment has been offering high quality process engineering equipment and expert services; in addition to Equipment Sales, the company provides Application Engineering, System Engineering including Design and Integration, Fabrication Services, Modular Packaging as a System Integrator, Equipment Installation as well as Equipment Service & Repair. We have grown to serve the entire United States and global clients from our base in California.
Today, McKenna Engineering & Equipment Co., Inc. is now part of a group of companies referred to as McKenna Companies. This group consists of three corporations; McKenna Engineering & Equipment Company, Inc.,Process Solutions & Integration, Inc. (PSI), andEnvironmental Water Solutions, Inc.. PSI and EWS are both subsidiary companies of McKenna Engineering.
The synergy between the companies is that they all perform nearly the same functions, but in different markets.
All three companies sell process equipment for handling air, gas, liquids, and dry bulk solids. In addition to equipment sales, services include application engineering, system engineering (including design & system integration), fabrication services, construction & installation services, and equipment repair – which includes field service. All three companies hold Class A California Engineering Contractors Licenses.
The Companies are horizontally market focused while offering vertically integrated services to every industry.
