Low-Noise Broadband Sources for Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) - SuperK

The SuperK Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) sources are low noise broadband sources, developed for optical coherence tomography. The OCT sources have a broadband spectrometer, and provide an identical performance to Ti:Sapphire-based OCT systems. However, the OCT sources do this in a cost effective manner, with a lower foot-print, and improved mobility and robustness.

The EXTREME OCT series, and the conventional SuperK EXTREME systems from NKT Photonics share the same durable platform, and they can be operated for 24 hours when needed. The OCT sources can be used for OCT in the 1300 nm region, and in the visible wavelength range.

The supercontinuum laser has been optimized to give the lowest noise performance in order to obtain high contrast, low noise images, and match the performance of bulky Ti:Sapphire lasers.
