Lapping Film from Advanced Abrasives Corporation

Lapping film is available from Advanced Abrasives as rectangular sheets, discs, belts and rolls in a variety of format sizes, abrasive sizes and abrasive types on high-quality polyester film of 3 mil (76µm) standard thickness.

In sheet and disc format, the lapping film is available plain or PSA backed with a choice of alumina, silicon carbide, cerium oxide or diamond coatings in abrasive sizes ranging from 0.25µm to 60µm. Lapping film sheets are available in sizes from 4” x 4” (100mm x 100mm) up to 9” x 13” (230mm x 330mm) and discs in various diameters from 3” (75mm) up to 12" (305mm).

Rolls and belts of lapping film are provided plain backed in a variety of industry standard lengths and widths with a choice of alumina, silicon carbide, cerium oxide or diamond coatings in abrasive sizes ranging from 0.25µm to 60µm. Custom requirements for roll and belt size (length and width) can usually be accommodated.

Applications range from the precision fine grinding / polishing of electronic and fiberoptic components to the finishing of magnetic reader heads.
