Introducing XEMIS
The XEMIS series of high accuracy gravimetric sorption analyzers can operate up to 200 bar. They measure changes in sample mass as a function of applied temperature and pressure, using this to determine isobars, isotherms and sorption kinetics.
Able to operate with a full range of vapor and gas species (including flammables and corrosives), the XEMIS series boasts active pressure regulation from 10-2 mbar, meaning the unit can offer a controllable pressure range that covers 7 orders of magnitude.
Designed with reproducibility, high resolution and high accuracy at its core, the XEMIS series can guarantee results with even small uptakes or sample sizes. The XEMIS series offers performance that is unparalleled in the field of high-pressure sorption analysis.

The widest controllable pressure range of any gravimetric sorption analyzer: active pressure regulation over 7 orders of magnitude
Unique Exosensing Technology for ease of operation, even with aggressive species
Optimized performance for sample sizes from 1 mg to 5 g
The IGA Method
The unique IGA method from Hiden Isochema is independently applied to each individual step in the gravimetric sorption measurement process. Pressure and temperature are actively regulated, while resultant changes in sample weight are recorded continuously.
The kinetic weight data is analyzed in real-time, and the trend toward equilibrium is predicted and displayed on screen. Equilibration criteria are applied to objectively determine the period allowed before the measurement moves on to the next pressure or temperature value. Each equilibrium point is plotted on an isotherm or isobar, and the full raw data is also recorded.
The IGA method involves real-time analysis of kinetic weight data, with the trend toward equilibrium predicted and displayed on screen. Criteria for equilibration are objectively applied, allowing the determination of the period required before the measurement moves on to the next temperature or pressure value. Each point of the equilibrium is plotted on an isotherm or isobar, with the full raw data also being recorded for later analysis.
The IGA method allows truly consistent analysis with optimum measurement accuracy, resulting in much faster overall process times.
