Our nanotechnology platform is developing world-class scientific capability focussing on nano/microfluidics, mathematical modelling and quantum dots.

We have strong linkages with other research groups including the MacDiarmid Institute for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology and MPT Solutions Ltd. We undertake collaborative work both locally and internationally with research organisations and nanotechnology companies.

A key focus is helping New Zealand industry in the successful uptake of nanotechnology, by acting as a conduit between local industry and developments in nanotechnology both in New Zealand and internationally.

Our capabilities include nanoclusters, quantum dots, microfluidic modelling, microfluidic device construction, electrodeposition, mechanical properties of metal oxides, surface films, aluminium pitting, electrocatalysis, antifouling, nanofluidics, bionano, filophysics, synchrotron science.
