Introducing IGA-003-MC
The IGA-003-MC is a turnkey system that employs the IMB (Integral Mass Balance) analysis method from Hiden Isochema for binary sorption analysis. It comprises an enhanced gas delivery and sampling system, a coupled mass spectrometer, and a gravimetric analyzer.
Key Features
Dedicated sample reactor with combi bath/heater for sample thermostatting
Dynamic mode gas delivery with gas flow calibration
Optimized sampling interface with a close-coupled Hiden mass spectrometer
The recommended sample size is 2-3 grams for operation in the pressure range of 0.5 bar to 10 bar
Unique IMB method for partial uptake determination
The IMB Method
In the IMB method, a mass spectrometer (MS) is used to determine the gas composition at the outlet after a controlled gas mixture passes over a sample suspended from the IGA microbalance.
The partial and total uptake of each gas is then determined as a function of a molar fraction by combining in-situ gravimetric data with outlet gas composition and inlet flow rates. Full time-dependent data is recorded and analyzed to ensure that steady-state conditions are achieved at every step of the measurement.
The IMB technique is a distinctive feature of the IGA-003-MC binary gas sorption analyzer by Hiden Isochema.
