The Model 383 Piezoelectric Accelerometer from Columbia Research Laboratories has been specifically developed to quantify vibration phenomena and high amplitude shock precisely. The high resonant frequency of 80 kHz leads to the least output distortion as a result of ringing while quantifying impact transients with durations as low as 50 µs.
Model 383 involves a sophisticated seismic system in which the sensing crystal is nearly constrained completely and free from zero shift after high energy effects. This accelerometer has not been affected by impact transverse components and has the ability to measure up to its rated value of 20,000 gand even to 50,000 gwith a steady operation.
Its robust construction guarantees high-performance, long life, repeatability and stability. Internal electrical isolation reduces ground loop issues caused due to noise currents.
