High-Sensitivity ConcentratIR2™ Multiple Reflection ATR Accessory

The Harrick Scientific’s ConcentratIR2^™ is a compact adaptation of the original Harrick multiple-reflection ATR accessory, designed to fit smaller FTIR sample compartments. This device is optimized for analyzing micro-liquid samples and features interchangeable diamond and silicon ATR sampling plates.

The ATR configurations incorporate a thin disk made of either silicon or diamond, which is optically coupled to a unique ZnSe component. The silicon setup consists of eleven internal reflections at an incident angle of 30°, suitable for a spectral range of 4000 cm^-1 to 650 cm^-1. In contrast, the diamond configuration allows for ten internal reflections at a nominal incident angle of 45°, covering a wavelength range from 4000 cm^-1 to 550 cm^-1.

The diamond version exhibits a low signal-to-noise ratio around 2000 cm^-1 due to the presence of diamond lattice bands. To enhance optical throughput, it includes features such as turn-tilt mirror adjustments and a vertical adjustment mechanism.

The ConcentratIR2^™ is fully enclosed to facilitate rapid sample changes and minimize disruptions during spectrometer purging.
