The heatable transmission and flow cells are compatible with Specac's various heated cell holders, such as the Variable Temperature cell holder, Water Heating Jacket, and Electrical Heating Jacket.
These cells come in static or demountable options and flow cells with Swagelok fittings.
Key Features of the Heatable Transmission Cells
Designed to be Heated or Cooled
These stainless-steel cells can be heated to 250 °C and cooled to –70 °C. They feature a small port for attaching a thermocouple for measurement (thermocouple not included).
Flow Cell Configurations
Swagelok connectors are accessible for integration with sample pumping systems, which is particularly advantageous when there is a need for regular recycling of samples and cleaning solutions.
Liquid Flow Cells
In flow cells, 1/16th inch Swagelok unions can be flushed either to the cell body or to 1/16th inch flow tubes. While either option is suitable for the Specac Electrical Heating Jacket or Water Heating Jacket, only the second type can be employed in the Variable Temperature Cell Holder.
Static Liquid Cells
There are filling ports on the front face fill the static cells. These are sealed with hex nuts while recording spectra. For introducing the sample to the cell, an appropriate syringe can be employed. Alternatively, Luer fittings can be securely screwed in place for compatibility with a Luer syringe.
Heatable Solids Holders
These are straightforward screw-fit cells capable of accommodating sample pellets or wafers, which can be heated up to 250 °C or cooled down to -190 °C. There are two versions designed for different Specac heated cell holders.
The Water and Electrical Heating Jackets feature a design that accepts samples up to 3 mm thick and 28 mm in diameter. On the other hand, the Variable Temperature Cell Holder and Water Heating Jacket come with a second design that accommodates samples with a thickness of up to 8 mm and a diameter of 30 mm.
