Handheld Raman for Safety Applications: TacticID®-GP Plus

The TacticID-GP Plus from B&W Tek is a field-ready handheld Raman instrument that has been developed for quick, non-destructive chemical identification to decrease response time and operational uncertainty.

The intuitive workflow and touchscreen of the instrument enable samples to be non-destructively examined via opaque and transparent packaging, where sample threat level is displayed clearly for safety personnel, bomb squads, first responders, customs and border protectionand hazmat teams to act quickly with minimal sample contact.

The TacticID-GP Plus makes use of established Raman spectroscopy, enabling users to obtain real-time actionable identification of samples with threat level and GHS and NFPA704 safety information exhibited clearly.

The TacticID-GP Plus contains an extensive library of more than 10,000 substances. Besides, it offers users the flexibility to make their own libraries for normal measurement and for tailored SERS measurement. Also, TacticID-BAS Plus without pre-installed libraries is available to ensure complete flexibility.

Customized libraries for normal and SERS measurement: Users can import, makeand customize on-board libraries to stay a step forward of rising threats.

Critical component mixture ID: Users can identify components and the threat level within a mixed sample.

Indirect contact analysis: User safety is enhanced by scanning directly via bottles, plastics, and other translucent packaging materials.

On-board camera: Users can capture photos at the scene and record any sample information with the help of the on-board camera. The test report includes photos and notes.

USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity: Users can manage data, transmit results, and update software or libraries easily and safely. Also, reports can be written directly to USB.

Actionable results: GHS and NFPA704 safety data is displayed apart from red, yellow, and green result screens to offer instant visual safety information.

Touch screen quick notes:Users can add custom notes to a scan result anytime and anywhere with the help of touch screen interface.

TacPac™ Adaptor

The optional TacPac™ adaptor enables easy and precise identification of fentanyl, heroin, synthetics, and low concentration samples by making use of Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). The system contains a SERS library of various opioids and low-dose narcotic substances. Users can also make their own SERS libraries.

Sampling Accessories

The TacticID-GP Plus instrument includes a range of easily interchangeable sampling accessories optimized for various sample types. It isequipped with a liquid vial holder, a point-and-shoot adaptor, and a right-angle adaptor for hands-free testing. The optional TacPac™ adaptor helps perform low-dose sample measurement via SERS. A polystyrene validation cap enables performing rapid system check.
