Handheld Raman for Forensic Analysis: TacticID®-N Plus

The TacticID^®-N Plus from B&W Tek is a field-ready handheld instrument that has been developed particularly for non-contact forensic analysis of pharmaceutical drugs, narcotics, cutting agents, and precursors by law enforcement personnel.

The instrument features an intuitive workflow and touchscreen, and thus can non-destructively examine samples via opaque and transparent packaging, where the sample threat level is exhibited prominently for customs, law enforcementand border protection to act rapidly with minimalsample contact.

The TacticID-N Plus makes use of the laboratory-proven Raman spectroscopy, which enables users to achieve actionable identification of illicit substances with no compromise on the sample’s integrity or the chain of evidence.

The TacticID-N Plus is available with an extensive library of more than 1,000 substances as a standard. Users can access periodic library updates to constantly retain up-to-date identification abilities and be ahead of rising narcotics.

Indirect contact analysis: Safety of users can be enhanced by scanning directly via bottles, plasticsand other translucent packaging materials.

USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity: Users can manage data, transfer results and update software or libraries safely and easily. Also, reports can be written directly to USB.

Touch screen quick notes: Users can add custom notes to a scan result anytime and anywhere with the help of touch screen interface.

Actionable results: GHS and NFPA704 safety information is displayed together with yellow, redand green result screens to offer instant visual safety information.

On-board camera: Users can take photos at the scene and register any information related to samples with the help of the on-board camera. Photos and notes are provided in the test report.

TacPac™ Adaptor

The integrated TacPac™ adaptor enables easy and precise identification of fentanyl, heroin, syntheticsand other conventionally difficult Raman samples by using Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS). The system includes a SERS library of several opioids and low-dose narcotic substances.

Sampling Accessories

Besides the TacPac adaptor, thepoint-and-shoot adaptor and liquid vial holder are adaptable for various situations and sample types. The optional right-angle adaptor is perfect for rapid throughput sampling without disturbing the substance. In addition, a polystyrene validation cap is included for a rapid system check.
