GeoSpec: The Industry Standard NMR Rock Core Analyzer

The GeoSpec benchtop NMR analyzer is designed to assess crucial properties of rocks, reservoirs, and fluids. It measures total oil and water volume, content, porosity, permeability, capillary pressure, wettability, and fluid saturation. By characterizing rock cores under high pressure and core flooding conditions, GeoSpec instruments enhance Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) and support carbon dioxide sequestration in Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) initiatives. The GeoSpec replicates the function of NMR logging tools in the lab, using high-pressure cells that operate at temperatures up to 100°C.

The GeoSpec Core Analyzer 2 MHz models routinely measure relaxation distributions, predicting basic petrophysical parameters like porosity and free and bound fluid determinations from T_₂ values. Higher field models (12 and 23 MHz) are designed for high sensitivity applications, including low porosity samples and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) that utilize 3D gradients.
