The journey started in 2013 at the National Institute of Nanotechnology and the University of Alberta, where Dr. Michael Taschuk led a team to develop the variable spectra technology foundation, which led to the Pico™ small area solar simulator.

The knowledge gained from creating the Pico™ accelerated G2V Optics next solar simulator product, the Sunbrick™. To satisfy those needing Class AAA quality, variable spectra, and instrument reliability for a larger area, Sunbrick™ rose to the challenge and filled the existing weak points of metal halide solar simulator technology.

G2V has become a proven leader in the solar simulator space by demonstrating the validity of LED technology through case studies and collaborations. Their products are now found in the industries of Aerospace, Photovoltaics, and Academic labs requiring engineered sunlight™ to shape the world of tomorrow.
