Chemplex® Preweighed FusionFlux® formulations are crucial for any high-throughput laboratory. They are composed of high-quality borate materials that are pre-fused to guarantee a uniform mixture used to get reliable results.
The formulations are packaged in a re-sealable SpectroVial® with the amount of contents stated by users.
Users can select the formulation that ideally suits their particular sample to get the best fusion results. They can simply add their samples to vial or add directly to the crucible.

Details
The flux fusion process is a simple and effective technique for preparing powdered sample substances for ICP, XRF, and AA analysis. The technique is based on the dissolution of a sample along with a suitable fluxing ingredient at a suitable temperature.
For direct XRF analysis, the molten mixture is further processed for AA or ICP solution analysis or cast into glass-like beads. Lithium borates, as represented by Chemplex® FusionFlux® Formulations, are the most effective fluxing agents.
Features of FusionFlux® Formulations
Pre-fused: Reduces the excess volumetric capacity of crucibles to sustain sample-to-fusion flux ratio recipes and prevents the potential possibility of spillover.
Low melting point: Ensures the dissolution procedure at effective temperatures but safely below temperatures of constituent elements believed to be susceptible to volatility loss.
High purity: Decreases the inclusion of potentially influential foreign element contamination by selectively regulating the pre-fusion process and the purity of the starting material.
Low LOI: Removes time-intensive accounting for loss on ignition; usually less than 0.03% loss on ignition.
Homogeneity: Guarantees compositionally analogous constituent particles for homogeneous melts.
Anhydrous: Decreases water content and removes the conventional process of drying before use.
Diversified mixtures: Provides the flexibility of choosing from assorted mixtures of various melting points to decrease the samples’ eutectic melting temperatures and regulating volatile element evolvement.
Granulation: Supports uniform particle size as well as configuration and distribution by reducing the introduction of “dust” particles to minor levels of concern; usually has less than 0.05% particles measuring less than 100 µm.
Non-wetting agents (NWA): Help lower the surface tension of the sample solution and render it less susceptible to stick to the platinum ware. While every sample does not need a lot of non-wetting agents, Chemplex® FusionFlux® formulations are available with the preset concentrations of the non-wetting agent. It is highly advisable to use NWA to extend the life of the platinum ware.
