Master Bond EP21AOLV-2Med has biocompatibility and cytotoxicity certifications, and it is often chosen for sealing, bonding, coatingand encapsulation applications in the industry of medical devices. This two-component epoxy system endures a range of sterilization methods, such as EtO, radiationand many cold sterilants.

EP21AOLV-2Med is thermally conductive and electrically isolating with good flow properties and seamless consistency. It bonds well to metals, glass, ceramics, composites, plasticsand several rubber materials.

This dimensional system provides a high-tensile modulus of 500,000–550,000 psi — a compressive strength surpassing 22,000 psi — and very low shrinkage when cured. EP21AOLV-2Med’s viscosity and low coefficient of thermal expansion make it ideal for encapsulation and potting applications.

Also, it resists several chemicals such as fuels, oilsand water. This medical-grade product is serviceable over thetemperature range of –60 °F to +250 °F.

Featuring a one-to-one mix ratio by weight, a 100 g batch of EP21AOLV-2Med has a working life of 4 to 6 hours at room temperature. Part A is gray and Part B is off-white, which also eases mixing. It can be easily applied with a spatula, trowel, knife, brush or paint roller.

This system cures at room temperature or more quickly when heat is added. EP21AOLV-2Med has ashelf life of nearly six months in its original, unopened containers and comes in half-pint kits, quart kits, pint kits, gallon kitsand five-gallon kits.
