The EMIA Series measures Carbon and Sulfur using the infrared method after combustion in an induction furnace. It is based on HORIBA’s well-established expertise in Non-Dispersive Infrared (NDIR) technology and is widely used for a variety of applications: Ferrous and non-ferrous alloys, electrical material, additive materials, electronics, catalysis, solar cells, battery precursors, etc.
The EMIA Series includes EMIA-Pro and EMIA-Expert that use a high-frequency furnace and 4 NDIR detectors and are developed on the concepts of reliability, user-friendliness and high-throughput. It includes multiple innovations increasing MTBM (Mean Time Between Maintenance), throughput and reducing the time required for cleaning maintenance.
Long MTBM (Mean Time Between Maintenance)
The unique patented cleaning mechanism not only removes the need for a vacuum cleaner but it also removes the dust in the furnace during the analytical cycle and keeps clean up to 200 cycles.
High Throughput
The new cleaning mechanism and the new furnace design reduce significantly the total analysis time with a full measurement cycle performed in 70 seconds, i.e. 50 samples/hour. The EMIA system can be equipped with an autosampler for fully automated analysis and unattended operation.
Fast and Easy Maintenance
Maintenance on EMIA analyzers is about half the time from conventional models. The design facilitates user access and all quick-release with no tools connectors make operations easier.
Advanced Functions for Best Accuracy and Precision (EMIA-Expert)
EMIA-Expert includes a high-performance purifier unit for the carrier gas and heating filter unit, offering exceptional performance for the determination of low levels of Carbon and Sulfur.
Advanced Operation Software
The EMIA-Series software is using an advanced user-friendly interface that includes a self-diagnostic monitor checking capability. Analysis Navigator, Troubleshooting Navigator and Maintenance Navigator are assisting operators through each daily step.
Analysis Navigator: One-click Operation Mode with recommended best measurement flow and analysis conditions, Operation flow for method optimization, and Analysis condition selecting the best conditions for a type of sample.
Troubleshooting Navigator: Automatic Diagnosis System that pinpoint the location of an issue, notifies the operatorand propose a step-by-step recovery procedure, limiting downtime and running costs.
Maintenance Navigator: Step-by-step procedures with photos and videos for periodic preventive maintenance.
