Established in 1989, Emfit is a world pioneer in the renaissance of ballistocardiography and a leading manufacturer of sleep sensing devices that apply this technology. The first scientific publication of our manufactured sensors dates back to 1993, and since then there have been over 100 research publications on Emfit’s film and sensor technology. We are proud to collaborate with a number of world-famous universities and research organizations, focusing not only on ballistocardiography but also on other types of sensing of vibrations and forces, including acoustics and ultrasound.

Emfit the company, is made up of a small, but extremely motivated team of 20 highly-talented individuals with diverse backgrounds. We all share a passion for what we do. Initially, we focused on research, then in 1996 began to develop and market our systems for elderly care. In 2001 a father of a child with Epilepsy approached us with an idea of how we could develop and manufacture Tonic-Clonic seizure monitors using Emfit technology. Today, 20 years later, the Emfit seizure monitor is one of our top-selling products, still in high demand and widely used throughout the world.

Emfit has been working on bio-signal sensing since the beginning. In 2004 we introduced the first generation vital signs monitor, which has since evolved into today's 4th generation EMFIT QS. EMFIT QS, our IoT sleep sensing solution, is the most comprehensive on the market. Emfit QS provides contact-free measuring of not only heart and breathing rates, sleep classes (REM, deep, light, awake) and movement activity, but most importantly whole night heart-rate-variability and autonomic nervous system balance (ANS). Today Emfit QS users are a wide variety of people, including an increasing number of athletes and active-lifestyle people interested in sleep and recovery.

Our proprietary sensor technology enables durable and discreet sensor placement even under a very thick mattress. The whole solution is based on accurate, real-time embedded signal acquisition, Wi-Fi or cellular data transmission, and cloud software solution, and thus ensures autonomous and automatic operation. Freedom from using a mobile phone to run an application and provide data processing has been one of our IoT solution's key values since 2013.

Emfit has a large and rapidly increasing base of private users who are interested in sleep and recovery. We also have a growing number of businesses, universities and research organizations becoming Emfit users. For them the key value is through API provided raw calculated data and band-pass-filtered ballistocardiography signal at a high sampling rate. Today there are hundreds of small and large corporations (some who are Fortune 500) and world-famous research organizations using our EMFIT QS and API solutions.​
