Although passion and innovation play a decisive role in research, most ambitious projects are realized by robust, modern tools.
The brightness of synchrotrons keeps getting better. To manipulate the increasing photon fluxes at the strongest beamlines, the EIGER2 X and XE detectors areintegrated with DECTRIS retrigger technology, which was first launched with PILATUS3 and supports a fourfold increased photon-counting capacity of up to 107 photons/second/pixel.
The EIGER2 X and XE X-ray detectors includeseveral extra innovations. The continuous readout of the EIGER detector has been improved to be completely dead time-free. The detectors currently offer a second tunable energy-discriminating threshold and provide gateable detection for pump-and-probe experiments.
The pixel size of 75 µm and direct detection of photons for maximum spatial resolution have been retained from the EIGER detector.
DECTRIS ultra-fast, large-area detectors help users to expand their research applications. The absence of dark current or readout noise allows users to quantify the best data.
Users can manipulate their beamline capabilities with the latest detector technology as well as complete support from the entire DECTRIS team.
