Pattern Region of Interest Analysis System (PRIAS™) is an innovative imaging technique that uses synergy to visualize microstructure and provide users with fresh perspectives on chosen materials. PRIAS allows users to describe materials rapidly without the need for extensive EBSD pattern indexing.
This imaging technique delivers up to 25 positional electron detectors through innovative usage of the EBSD camera, allowing significant flexibility in image collection and display. Traditional EBSD materials, such as metals, ceramics, semiconductorsand minerals, as well as novel analyses of plastics and glasses, can all benefit from PRIAS.
PRIAS Imaging Simultaneously Detects Multiple Contrast Mechanisms
Atomic number contrast
Orientation contrast
Topographical contrast
Three Modes of Operation
PRIAS Live: With 25 positional detectors available, thisis a dedicated mode for quick microstructural imaging.
PRIAS Collection: PRIAS data was captured in real-time with EBSD mapping data utilizing three preset detectors.
PRIAS Analysis: Analytical examination of the EBSD pattern intensity distribution, with a direct linkage to crystallographic orientation and phase information measured. This mode gives more control over the detector position.
Advanced Image Processing Capabilities
PRIAS features a robust toolkit for processing, coloringand extracting usable information from the images offered by the various positioning detectors.
The 25 positional detectors may be used to choose orientation and topographic contrast pictures. To create a processed image that emphasizes the contrast between phases, a weighted subtraction method might be utilized.
Any of the 25 positional detectors can be used to produce greyscale and color images. Background processing can be applied in both static and dynamic modes.
The difference between PRIAS detector signals can also be computed and shown as a greyscale or colored image. This enables the easy detection of grain boundaries and microstructure, as well as grain size estimates.
PRIAS and Transmission-EBSD
Transmission-EBSD (t-EBSD) is also compatible with PRIAS and can give extra levels of information from electron transparent samples.
PRIAS Provides New Insight into User Materials
PRIAS gives users tremendous flexibility when it comes to imaging microstructures. PRIAS allows intriguing new perspectives into today’s materials research by integrating up to 25 positional detectors with customizable image viewing and analysis.
