EDAX Lambda WDS Spectrometers

EDAX Lambda^™ wavelength dispersive spectroscopy (WDS) spectrometers offer advanced accuracy and precision, ensuring optimal findings for materials analysis. The EDAX Neptune and Trident analysis systems contain Lambda spectrometers, which considerably improve the accuracy of results by resolving energy dispersive X-Ray spectroscopy (EDS) peak overlaps, increasing the minimum detection limit by 10×, and enabling precise quantification.

The Lambda spectrometers are designed for parallel beam operation and are available in models:

EDAX Lambda Plus: Polycapillary optics provide optimal efficiency for transition element energies ranging from 150 eV to 10 keV (B Kα to Ge Kα)

EDAX Lambda Super: Combines polycapillary optics with proprietary dual optics design to deliver the highest efficacy for light elements, particularly B, C, N, and O, employing high-collection, reflecting X-Ray optics

Scanning Modes

Every element in the periodic table has at least one X-Ray line that can be covered by the Lambda spectrometers, which can scan the whole energy range. Options for scanning modes include:

Automatically acquiring one or more elements

The flexibility to adapt the scan range to any particular application

User-selectable step size and speed

Peak and background modes for a selection of elements

Describe elements using an intuitive periodic table interface

The software suggests diffractor, peak, and background positions

Qualitative and Quantitative Analysis

Users can obtain both quantitative and qualitative measurements using the EDAX APEX^™ software with Smart Quant. For easy qualitative confirmation, gather and overlay WDS and EDS data simultaneously. The analyst could choose between EDS and WDS techniques to quantify a desired element to increase detection limits and precision.

Smart Focus

The APEX software has a feature called Smart Focus routine. To maximizethe spectrometer’s performance, the automated method modifies the sample height to focus the WDS signal.
