Epsilon’s Digital Signal Conditioners are engineered as a low-cost solution for static mechanical testing where digital display is not required.
The DSC is a digital signal conditioner with analog output. Calibrations are handled by software through an RS232 connection. The sampling rate is appropriate for usual tensile tests. They provide the entire signal conditioning electronics required for a strain gage based extensometer.
The DSC has a high accuracy amplifier and an excitation voltage of 5 VDC to provide high level DC voltage output. It includes a tare button to zero output at the start of every test and a shunt button for periodic verification of the output.
The output is ideal for direct connection to data acquisition boards that require a high level DC input voltage. It can also connect directly to test controllers or chart recorders and allows the extensometer data to be obtained by the data acquisition software.
All models include a power cord for the user’s country. A 2.5 m (8 ft) output cable is included to connect to external systems, and calibration with an extensometer is included in the pricing.
Epsilon provides 36 Extensometer models in thousands of variations. The company’s focus on helping customers has led to the development of models to cover almost any test method.
Operation of these and all of Epsilon’s extensometer are verified to applicable standards such as ISO 9513 or ASTM E83 using in-house calibration systems. These systems are calibrated with Epsilon’s laser interferometer system.
The company has over twenty years history of service for the materials testing community, and will be there to stand behind their products when the user’s critical application requires it.
