Deuterium Lamps for Analytical Instruments - L2D2

Hamamatsu’s L2D2 lamps are deuterium lamps that are specifically designed for analytical instruments. These lamps possess excellent features, such as high output, high stability, and extended service life, which are necessary for light sources used in analytical instruments.

The L2-4000 series lamps guarantee an operating life of 4000 hours, which is the longest operating life of any deuterium lamp. An optimum and even temperature distribution is realized by employing a ceramic structure. Such a uniform temperature distribution is considered to be the most critical aspect for consistent operation. In addition, the use of a ceramic structure with superior thermal stability guarantees a steady lamp operation, even during ambient temperature fluctuations.

The distance between individual electrodes are ensured by using ceramic electrodes. This accurate spacing reduces the difference in output light intensity from lamp to lamp. A small thermal expansion coefficient in the ceramic structure also ensures that there is almost no movement of the arc emission point during the course of operation.
